i'm only good at the hardware/fixing computers side. not much of the software technicalites of yet.you're trying to transfer an old doc done in wordperfect on a mac to a different computer with Word right? i have no idea.i was thinking there would be a programming problem there, like it would come up all computer jibberish language, with symbols and stuff, binary if you willin word.ask doctor? he'spretty good with that sort of thing.:)
Is it a long article/document?
I remember opening my wordstar files years ago on MicrosoftWord. As far as I remember, it will open, but then, a lot of funny characters/symbols will appear (i.e. rectangles, etc.), but then, I just deleted those characters and the text is still there.
I'm not sure about this, but if you're going to do that, it's better to use a lower version of MSWord.
Indeed*!*
try...... Opening it in notepad or word pad as I THINK WP used rich text or barely enhanced plain text.
Or Download openoffice.org I think it can open WP and can defo save MSTurd files.
I managed to retrieve all my files from WP format to PC Word a few years ago, by converting them to Ascii with a piece of shareware i found. You lose all the effects but keep the text.
