or do I just suck...a lot of the bands that everyone was all gaga over at this weekends music festival were SHIT...
First off...here's what we walked into Friday afternoon...
alright...on to the bands...
Kaiser Chiefs (7:30pm): This was the indisputable highlight of day one. We arrived with only moderate expectations after feeling disappointed in this year's Yours Truly, Angry Mob. But the Kaisers have grown from a fun club act to a polished arena band since we last saw them in Summer 2005.
Erm...they weren't the highlight...as a matter of fact...they sounded like a fucking glorified fucking Ramones cover band...am I the ONLY ONE that thinks they aren't that great??? Oh...and I don't think Kaiser Chiefs were the highlight on Friday, because 2 hours earlier, on the very same stage, LCD Soundsystem played a set that blew my fucking socks off...I wasn't sure how good a show it would be in a large field...but Mr. Murphy and his entourage put on a highly entertaining show...and he's quite frigging funny...
Then Saturday, everyone was all over The Arcade Fire's nuts...I didn't get that one at all...oh...and Blue October SUCKS...period...
Sunday...the only thing I can really bitch about...has Bob Dylan been gargling with moose piss and porcupine quills??? My friends were really looking forward to the old fucker, and we ended up leaving midway through the second song...he sounded that shit...and it wasn't just us...the crowd started streaming out...if the fucker was sick, he should have cancelled...bastard...
now I'll probably go read somewhere that he died last night/this morning...
