Does anyone else think that 'Little Britain' is a pile of unfunny shit?

Just seen an episode of it for the first time. Can't believe that such a pile of utter shite is so popular in the UK. Are the British totally brainless??? Am I really missing something? Has British comedy really been reduced to a series of banal catchphrases? Maybe US sitcoms might be better...

Damn. I need some sleep.

SHITE SHITE SHITE! :jump2:

Thank fcuk for two intelligent replies. In that case, I might actually get to sleep before dawn. Unless Dawn gets... no I'm not going there... Sorry for the rant, but it really is unfunny shite

Its based on the idea of repeat sketches, Chris. It only gets funny after watching the same sketch x times. As in the Fast Show.

Little Britain though, unlike the Fast Show, is a big pile of cack.

I thought you were referring to Dreadzone's single.

Thought it was slightly funny the first few times I saw it but after that:banghead:

There is something so infuriating about Little Britain and I dread to think what it is like going to see it live.

Kack pure unfunny Kack i.m.o.

-- The funniest thing on tv is the repeat shows of LEE EVANS..Now they are funny.

Yep it's crap..take the bloke in the wheelchair sketch..I wouldn't pick on an invalid in real life but he just needs a good kicking!

Has it moments.

But the repetition, that seems to be the key to it's comedy, is also the most annoying thing.

Mind you, I'd take it over traditional Brit comedy like Norman Wisdom (and his emulator Lee Evans)....I HATE comedy based on stupid people being stupid.

Give me Python or give me death.

Chris, where the fcuk have you been living these past five years?!

How can you only just have seen an episode of Little Britain?!

Have you ever seen the News? That's quite good. You can catch it most nights! BBC News is a must. Format's a bit repetitive, natch, but they try and mix-up the sketches from night to night. Check it out!

First series of Little Britain was genius. I fail to see who anyone could not laugh at Andy and Lou.

But, as they say, over-familiarity breeds contempt and they eventually played their hand way too many times.

Agree with what Al says. The novelty wore off rather quickly.

Certain comedy programmes have real repeat viewing quality - Phoenix Nights is a good example, Little Britain was good for about 6 months and that was it.

The Catherine Tate Show is heading the same way, although Gran still has me in stiches!

I never got that show. I thought I was the only one.

first series good / new.

then boring & repetetive & didn't seem as funny.

I'm amazed at its popularity. stage shows etc.

Al, I avoided it like the plague for ages for reasons I won't disclose here. Accidentally saw a repeat of the first episode (I think) and wondered why anyone would possibly think it funny. Oh well.

And is it just me, or has Cambo re-generated? :eek3:

"Little Britain" was funny when it started, although it very quickly became boring and crude (in an unfunny way),its still no as shite as anything with Ricky Gervais in it,hes as funny as cancer

Agree 100%.... I have at least laughed at Little Britain on occasion, but RG makes my flesh creep while asking "excuse me, why are you laughing". Especially in light of what I said above about hating the "aren't morons funny" school of comedy.

Aye Nasher, I traded Paddy in for Jon.

What's the opinion here on the good-old "Royle Family"? :fart:

You just wouldn't let it lie, would you?

Well it wasn't my fault

Not my cup of tea. That is, its the unfunny retro bastard child of the fast show and Dick Emery. But some folk seem to like it. Little Britain, I mean. Royale family is OK.

Royle Family was sound at the time :thumb:
