Is it just me............???

We all know Argos exists surely?

We all know Wizzard sang 'I wish it could be Christmas'

So why with many weeks to go do we need to be reminded that we are going to spend an astronomical amount on what is just, a Christian festival of erm..........one day?

I personally am cancelling Christmas. Its a total waste of money (except if you have really small children then its lovely); I could find much better ways of spending the money - preferably somewhere hot and sunny, and finally cos I am a miserable cow!

Bahhhh humbug!

I haven't even picked out the prize pumpkin from Tesco yet...........give me a break!

I actually don't mind Christmas... for the following reasons.

1] Christmas Eve Midnight Service. [For this choirgirl it's the most fun service of the entire year. Second only to Evensong.]

2] I get to actually spend time with my family--and I usually don't want to these days!!

3] Sometimes, I just make presents. More heartfelt, especially since I'm more sentimental than practical.

4] Mistletoe. 'Nuff said.

5] Just this rare... I don't know... unique glow about Christmas that just gets me going. Even though at times getting up at 4 A.M. just to walk 20 minutes in 30-degree weather to get to work by 5, it's worth it because, just something so nice about Christmas.

6] A reason to go out of town.

and...

7] For me anyway, a small reminder of the real reason Christmas came in the first place.

 So yeah, that's my view on it.

Not a fan myself. Normally take a bit of time off work and turn up to other people's parties and that. Left to me, it would be totally forgotten about though.

My birthday slap in the middle of the festivities, so I'm normally a dribbling mess by New Years Eve.

We're all off to Up Helly Ah next year, so I ought to pace myself I suppose...

I refuse to even think about it until it has been my birthday.

Although I go nuts decorating for Christmas (for my little ones), putting so many lights up my electric bill triples (yeah! for my addition to global warming)......but the 'warning' of CHristmas coming shouldn't be until a couple days before Thanksgiving (for us Americans)...Other than that, they need to shut the hell up about it.

I can honestly say I have not known all the ads out this early before...........

Then again, the halloween outfits were in Tesco a month ago.,..........

But strangely enough; I gave the children - by definition in law, they still are............a choice. Christmas at home with all the usual 'stuff' or a week away in the sun over the xmas period.

Guess what? They chose the former.

No doubt they'll miss me though..........
