Anyone ever seen this lot? They look like the Mighty Boosh and are, basically, pretty shit. One good track and that's the one vs Simian Mobile Disco.
Thing is, all their fans wear little luminous crucifixes - hung round necks, tied to wrists, sewn into t-shirts, etc. Bizarre. Saw 'em support the Chems last night and the place was flooded with their fans.
They're French anyways. 
I've just got the album. Its shite. The Simian Mobile Disco one wipes the floor with it.
Its also extremely pretentious to call your debut album a symbol, which happens to be a cross. Wankers.
AND.. to top it all, they are French.
You did well to get tickets to that gig. It sold out in a millisecond! I tried and failed. What was your secret? Justice actually headlined KOKO all by themselves a few weeks ago. So I guess if you put their fans together with Chems fans you're gonna get a lot of interested people. AND it was only £15. I like at least half the Justice album. It starts pretty strongly, and I think the louder you play it, the more it kicks your arse (in a good way). Incidentally I went to Editors at KOKO the night before ( it's all Electric Proms innit?) with Battles supporting. Can't complain for £15. Editors have certainly gained a bit of swagger since I saw them before the release of their first album at the Barfly/ I think that was Jan 05 or thereabouts. The "with strings" part of the Editors gig was largely redundant but hell, you don't want to water them down with that poncey business anyway!

Never heard of them since though. The crucifix thing is a bit weird, god that's like some of us lot wearing viking helmets 
Well at the risk of getting Trainspotter-y... We Are Your Friends was originally called "Never be Alone" by the band Simian. Two memebers of Simian carried on after Simian had split and "Traded as" Simian Mobile Disco, as indeed they still do. So Simian get the credit for the song, Justice just remixed it into a dancefloor friendly thing. So thats probably why it doesn't sound much like any of the tunes that Justice have since written/released.

Got 'em on the dot of midday when they went on sale. Like you said though, sold out in secs, didn't know another soul with tickets despite all and sundry trying.
Didn't see all the gig anyways. Chems didn't come on till gone 10.30 then fcut off after Star Geetar when it seemed that the electrics had blown on stage (though bowling around the building it appeared some fire alarms had actually gone off). Gave 'em 15mins but there was no sign of them coming back so just fcut off. Missed live appearances by Tim Burgess and Beth Orton after that. Typical.
Not sure about the Justice support though. Seemed like way too much of a nu-rave crowd in and, indeed, the deejay between acts seemed like the sort of cnut who hasn't been allowed near any other dance event for 15 years - swear to god he learned his vocal technique from doing the whirlitzer at fairgrounds: "Scream if you wanna goooooo faster!" The kids lapped him up though. Tsk.
And in their big single they completely jack Goblin's ARRRSOME score for the movie "Tenebre." Like a bad couple of Daft Punk imitators.

The original is arguably superior to the remix. Its weird that Simian scored two massive hits over a year after they split, but didnt really get moticed whilst together. Video is here, set in the sort of pub i reckon Jarvo would love.
