What's "pop" anyway? Let's restrict it to anything that hit the Top 40 but which you wouldn't hear on BBC 6 Music or similar po-faced media.

Nevertheless, I watched an episode of CSI Miami yesterday where it was the song that played during a fashion show... must say it worked pretty well.

On another note... I discovered The Killers' When We Were Young while playing Guitar Hero 3... for some reason I thought Bones was the first single out of Sam's Town and since I didn't like it, I didn't bother... but god damn it... WWWY is awesome...

Whoever mentioned Interpol as pop goes to show some of the glaring differences of pop music in different countries. Wow! I mean "Heinrich Manuever" hardly made a scratch in the mainstream game here.

First time I head it was as a backing for a "hasn't Lewis done well so far" montage before the US GP, and with the McRon zipping around and the level being ducked in and out for the commentary (which at this stage was JUST starting to turn into the audible blowjob it would become for the rest of the year)...it sounded like quite a good track, but I never noticed the Orgy-BM sample.
Then when someone posted it here, I heard it clearly, good LORD it's BALLIX, 1dB dynamic range, no life or movement, and that awful "voice" of hers, man oh man it stinks. Then someone told me it was her who stole Personal Jesus from DM (one of the very few songs of their's which, now I'm not 14, I can still hear without instantly projectile vomitting). I mean FFS, do a cover or lift a sample, but do not nick a whole track and whine over it then claim it's yours. It's bad enough that all the "hip hop" you hear is just, again, someone else's track with some fuckin knobcheese of a rapper shouting about how big his (tiny) cock is, how good he is with it, how much he hates women cos they want him etc etc etc.

Her tune is quite enjoyable.

Well Steve, you must know, those are Quebec charts, not canadian charts, it's a pretty different story since we have french songs as well.
Although, in french-canadian music, there is only 2 styles... rock and pop-rock... beside that, you won't make any money out of it.... hence why some bands from Montreal decided to opt for english (Simple Plan and Arcade Fire just to name a few)... even though there are (rare) people able to do some interesting music in french around here.
Anyways, I usually don't listen to the radio anymore... there are many songs on my iPod, that's enough for me ;) I do get new material from bands I enjoyed when released, and from time to time check out what's hot these days.

Well, I don't know the other, sorry... but that one was popular 10 years ago.
Her album with that some (With every hearbeat) will be released in North America this year, so I guess it will climb the charts at some point.
