I have no idea why I opened this thread, Mike, but then it's been a slow news day! :evil4:

However, seeing as this is in Heaven, I'm actually quite tempted. Are you defo down for this? I'm intrigued to see what all the fuss is about.

Well, if you're in 'da haus' then I'll tag along, if I may.

Would be good to catch-up for an ale.

Yup, got tickets - think that bloomin' SMS delivery company tried to deliver it at some point (dunno when, I've been in most days apart from New Years Eve/Day)...

It is on a Thursday, however, so may be beneficial to take the Friday off... :)

I'm in.

Me and Nick King were going to take a pic of Mike outside Heaven, and then photoshop some leather chaps and a peaked cap onto his personage.

Absolutely!

Oh, btw, more info here (inc. links for tickets).

Edit: It's not an all-nighter, finishes at 2am... :)

Are they anything like The Cure?

Get into some Future Sound Of London or Amorphous Androgynous , Mike.Much better than that System 7 shite.

I reccomend Dead Cities by FSOL

And Alice In Ultraland by Amorphous Androgynous

Oh and check out Tales Of Ephidrina by Amorphous too

That should put yer right:thumb:

FSOL hardly ever play live, though, and Garry Cobain's DJ sets (allegedly) leave a lot to be desired! :p

However, if FSOL do announce a tour date, then I'll be there! :thumb:

Check out the alien by the stage. Its almost Spinal Tap-esque.

Last time I saw Eat Static was at a Megadog around 1993, and they were the only band to ever make my ears bleed.

For all their hippy ambient credentials, The Orb are by FAR the loudest band I've ever seen. I saw them at the Academy years ago and thought we'd better get there early to beat the rush (there was, in fact, no rush); so early that I was there for the soundcheck. Nothing bled, but I remember us taking it in turns to stand on the dancefloor and be physically moved around by the sound. It didn't seem as loud later on, no doubt because of the other people in there, our inebriated state and the fact that our ears had been permanently damaged by the soundcheck.

Saw The Orb at Leicester De Montford 1992 and they were fantastic , great visuals , sound , the whole show. They seemed to tale off for the years after though.Caught them again at Kentish Town Forum in 95 i think it was and they were ok but not as good as in 92.Then the last time was Birmingham Que Club in 97 and the visuals had become almost non existant. The curry afterwards was much better.

As for System 7 , not sure if i've ever seen em or not:scratch: might have done but they obviously didnt leave much of an impression on me otherwise i'd have remembered it.The albums up to 1993 were good but haven't got time for them after that.
