i think they're one of few underrated consistent band/group from the eighties. always brings back good memories...

A friend of mine made me listen to Alphaville early demos. They are from the late 70's and... far better than their first album corrupted by a "mainstream production"...

I always liked Alphaville. Their 1997 album is also good. But I'm surprised to see that many Anglo-Saxons are aware of them.
