Sad I know but what the hell.
Denise was playing a CD of Kevins (just before the funeral). It sounded like The Jam or Paul Weller. Can anyone clarify what the song was?

There was a stream of 90's pop on BBCi last night, including Blur and Daniels doing Parklife live on TOTP.
My initial reaction was not to think 'ah, the cool bloke from Quadrophenia' but 'oh no, it's the fella off Eastenders'!

Don't watch soaps myself. Specially the shinny happy people of Eastenders, but how can two of you have such different ideas as to what the choon was? "The Bitterest Pill" is a beautiful melody and paean for the lost love he never regained (Ah! The bittersweet memories.)
But Ghosts is a totally different kettle of fish! Another Weller anthem for disaffected youth...

I was a mad Jam fan right up till "Going Underground" (and slightly later) a braw wee tune, that had the great misfortune to be released the same month & year as "Love Will Tear Us Apart"(although it did go straight into No1, while "Love Will... could only manage my lucky No13 in the charts.)
I read an interview with Weller recently were he said "Joy Division were a huge influence on Sound Affects!" (
)
It's just a pity that Weller's turned into the kind of rock dinosaur, he once hated, when he was writing songs that said something likke, EG:"When We Were Young!"
And This...

I'd like to live in Walford.Nobody ever goes to work except for a few minutes "watching the stalls" and they all hang out in the pub all day every day.

Don't watch it but I heard beforehand what was meant to happen (I have to put up with soaps etc. in my house, unfortunately). Apparently he crashed one of those deathtrap cars that were kicking around.
Thats right, no one owns a washing machine.
No one has breakfast at home, theyre all down the Caff!
All secret rendezvous are held at same Caff (for all and sundry to see).
All stag dos, hen dos, nights out must consist of going to the Vic.
No one watches tele.
No one watches Eastenders (otherwise they woudl see how sad they are and move out).
