Katja - a bit of advice. The scenery is lovely, the food and beer are good, the people are very welcoming (if you're not English)but if it's cold, DON'T wear your 'fleece'... ![]()

Why not? Heavy rain?
You might get alot of heavy rain and yes, wool does tend to soak up alot of fluid and erm... retain it. I'd take a good waterproof jacket instead ![]()

Just out of interest, is this through choice? or is it a free holiday, or some punishment thing?, doing it for a bet etc etc

Come now Burt...there's loads of fun things to do in Wales...like...erm...uhm...welllll...
Okay, I get yer frigging point now...
Come on, you'll be putting Bere off. It's actually a beautiful country but as has been said, make sure you take warm clothes (although last time I went, it was scorchio!)
Are There Any Welsh people out there?
A question I've been asking myself a lot of late.
Why the lack of lads and lasses from the hills and valleys of the principality?
Couldn't they forgive New Order for "World In (Bowel) Motion", if us Jocks (Arrgh!
) and German's like Bere can forgive 'em then surely the Sheepshaggers, sorry the Welsh can!
So why the lack of Welsh New Order fans?
PS Bere do yourself a favour and come to Scotland instead, it'll be just as wet, if not wetter. But this is God's own country, and the Scots don't have the same reserve as the English, and we know how to Party! And only our Aberdonians shag the sheep! (And even their art gallery [Aberdeen's] is unexpectedly excellent.) You can even stay in my spare room (free of course) I live in a small town halfway between Glasgow (a.k.a Heaven) and Edinburgh. And you never know; we may even meet John Higgins again when we go shopping!
PS plenty of mushies (magic mushrooms) in Auld Schottland
Wales is a lovely country, and the people can be incredibly friendly as well. All you have to do is try not to act too much like an English tourist (shouldn't be a problem!) visting what he still thinks is one of his colonies, and you will have a great time. Pembrokeshire is one of my favourite places in the whole world, fantastic beaches, great country pubs, good food, breathtaking scenery, and the Brecon Beacons are just perfect.
Yup, love Wales (my Dad lives there), but it does tend to get it's fair share of rain (although I did get sunburnt when I visited a couple of years ago - in March...
)...
Whereabouts in Wales are you intending to visit? The north (Snowdon, Llandudno, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay), mid-Wales (Aberystwyth, Abaeron, Newtown, Welshpool, etc), or South Wales (Brecon Beacon or the cities - Swansea, Cardiff, etc)?
Snowdon and the Ffestiniog railways are a must visit, as is Brecon Beacon. I've visited Aberystwyth, Lampeter and Aberaeron a lot (near where my Dad lives), and the surrounding countryside/mountains/beaches are lovely there, too.

Silly people:
you'll be down the mines and singing in Welsh mixed voice choirs before you can say, Boo!
If you listen to them.
