Dear God. Not all of our country is this stupid. At least I hope not. Then again, it seems that people seem to forget ever taking geography or world history in middle school.

There is a definite arrogant thread in American society that takes pride in being ignorant and lazy... why learn about other countries when Americans are "#1", white people are the "best" people of all, and Christianity is the "only" real religion? It's a cute mix. But onesly I reckon any high-populated society has enough stupid ones within their races, social classes, clubs, etc.

It's more surprizing to hear such things from older people who suposedly had more time to witness a lot of events and accumulate knowledge.

That's why it's not that difficult to tell people off the telly whatever is needed. And if we talk about international relations, etc., 99.85% of population doesn't know a thing.

Thankfully, we know that it would be utterly impossible for the producers of a television show to edit their footage to achieve the results they want to achieve.

Not that there aren't a fair share of dullards here, or anywhere else, mind.

Not everyone in the US who is white is of Anglo-saxon descent, and a good portion of Americans aren't white. Plus, we're so far removed from any type of European relation (unless, of course, your ancestors came over here during the 20th century, and even then, you're still distant), that we're not really relatives. We just share some common background -- maybe.

And even then, the English and the French have a history of dissing each other, and they're both countries of Anglo-Saxon descent.

Er-hm, 'scuse me, maybe my ignorance is slipping (but I'm not often wrong, and I think I'm right again.) The Anglo-Saxons are of English/Germanic descent, The French (Long Live The Auld Alliance against the Sasanach invaders!) and the Scots are of Celtic (pushed from France long ago) and Gaulish descent (and obviously many others). Few French would claim kinship with either The Angles or The Saxons (except possibly a few near the German border, and that also from long ago.)

But Jiphy would probably know more about this than I do?

PS: Not everyone in the UK who is white is of Anglo-Saxon descent and a good portion of the British aren't white...
