I've been in the mood for some good electronic music, but disenchanted after the last two albums I've checked out. LCD Soundsystem was too slow and bare bones and boring.... Chemical Brothers 'we are the night' has too much repatition of the same sound and words it gives me a headache (not one for trance)...
Looking for something more along the lines of the Chemical Brother's song 'Galvenize' or Prodigy's 'Fat of the Land'
any suggestions on electronic music I don't need ectasy to enjoy?

For reasons which sometimes escape me is usually classed as "electronica."
I take it you've probably heard some of her singles and may well have been put off by her "kookiness" but listen to "Vespertine" or "Medúlla" (preferably up loud through headphones at first) and you'll find stunning electronic music you don't need to be high to enjoy.
Nothing relaxes me as much as listening to this "women's"? (angel's!) voice if I'm feeling low/pissed off etc.
And the music backing the voice is as varied as...
(er, something that's got a lot of variation.)
Björk. Please! Give her a chance: I cannot praise her voice enough, and her lyrics are often just as stunning.

If it's straight forward big bouncy tracks by 'bands' you're after then just go for the obvious, and probably the most commericial - Orbital's Work (singles collection), Daft Punk's Alive, 808 State's 808:88:98 (again, all singles). Also pick up both the Prodigy's and the Chem Bros separate single collections as well.
Then perhaps start digging back through each of those artistes back catalogues.
Of the nu-breed you've got bouncy choons from Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, Justice (ouch!) and MSTRKRFT you can listen to.
Try Vitalic's 'OK Cowboy' album from a few years back.
Just been reminded of it by that Toshiba ad on TV lately.It's a track off that album.
Did you like The Crystal Method, our "response" to the Chemical Brs. But while I find the Brothers boring, I do enjoy the Crystal Method.
electronic music has always been a side interest, more of 'punk' type of guy... but lately really itching for some electronic music... thanks all for your suggestions.... I'm going to try out these suggestions and get back with ya all... 
Ok I have been having a similar quandary to Semper Fi lately,
I have a bit of Electronic-lots of Prodigy (I love the rock base and their attitude) K.M.F.D.M (ditto) some Underworld (ace production) Massive Attack, Portishead (those beats!!) "Screamadelica" "Front by Front" (ok, I love hard beats)
BUT I know I am missing out on The Orb and Orbital.
I know to get "The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld" for pure mind expansion (ok Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space is another drug trip)If I played those for the yuppies at my job, I'd be getting a psych exam

Erlend Oye - Unrest, The singer from swedens Kings of Convenience traveled round the world recording tracks with different electronic musicians. If you like'd the first Electronic album you should like this.

I still insist that Anthony Rother is de man in this area. He's worth a listen for anyone into electronica. Dead simple, dead catchy. Keeps it very neat and tidy. Shit singer, but his beats resonate nicely.
Has anyone mentioned Krafwerk yet?
