Ok, after reading all the people ejaculating over their new album, I thought I'd give it a try....

....WTF are all you people on?????

as my wife jokingly mentioned, it sounds like beck with one of those toy store keyboards... the type where you punch the button and a cheesy beat plays for you rock out with....

Am I completely missing something here????:confused2:

As in most cases with modern bands - I like their music, I detest their vocals.

"All of my Friends" and "Someone Great" were two of the best singles of the year. Maybe the album haters should at least give these 2 tracks a couple of repeat listens. It'd be a shame if they didn't get the appreciation they deserve. The first 5 mins of the Soulwax mix of "Get Innocuous" is also pretty impossible to sit still to.

For the sake to keep an open mind, I listened to the album repeatedly... and still:confused2:

Fool me once, shame on you Fool me twice shame on me..... What is fool me four times?

Maybe Martin's right and they are excellent live... but what is a concert like? Seems that all the music would already be sequenced and planned out, with some dude that can't really sing at the microphone flailing his arms about....

....probably more likely is that Jeff is right, I'm just some Yank wanker who's taste in music sucks....

Don't know why people think he can't sing. Fcuk me, have you heard Bernard Sumner sing? I thing James Murphy really projects well live, considering that most of his vocals border on the side of big.

As for live, they're a proper 'band', with geetars, a drummer, a bass player, etc. I'm confused as to what people would expect - they're far removed from the likes of Orbital or the Chemical Bruvvers, who just sit behind banks of lights and decks.

This is footage of LCD live on Jools Hollland -

EDIT: Actually, this is much better footage - live in Manchester early last year. Now, if that ain't a proper gig, I don't know what is?

Pity about the fade out.

But thats down to Soulwax not LCD...

I bought the two albums and downloaded the remix one, have to say they're patchy at best - the singles being the best stuff on them. The title track on Sound of Silver sounds like a parody of Heaven 17.

Never seen them/him live, and based on the studio effort i doubt i'd bother.
