How to fight infatuation? A friend of mine said he was infatuated with a person at his work and he said he didn't need all that mess in his life (he's married, got kids, so does that person). They just hired that person. I didn't know what to tell him. I advised to change the job or get over it. Right?
How to fight infatuation?

It depends if she feels the same, then it's dangerous territory. I don't think I'd do anything drastic like changing my job though.
Yes if you find that you can't get over something, your best advise is simply to get over it.
However, if that doesn't work I would advise the following:
- Wallow in it on your own
- Go on and on about it to your mates
- Drink more beer than normal
- Stop eating
- Try to entertain other thoughts in order to displace the infatuation from your mind.
- Try to rationalise your thoughts in order to see how unrealistic they may be
- Accept that unrequited infatuation is essentially the same process as grieving for someone who has died. Accepting that you are as likely to 'get over' the loss of a lover as you are likely to stop feeling sad about, say, the death of a relative is an important step in accepting the loss and moving on.
- Put on loads of weight
- Kill yourself
Hope this helps ![]()
I'd advise him to get better friends who don't casually disclose personal details on a trivial little website like this.

Ooh I forgot one:
- Seek advice from a disparate bunch of alcoholics, misfits and insomniacs, half of whom probably have it in for you anyway

A furious Power wank, daily in works toilets could help. Surpresses the urge to pummel the unpummelable/unatainable. Coarse remedy, but effective for half an hour or so..Tell him to make sure his town halls are empty at all times in her prescence.Damage limitation.
Anything else I can help with, just ask. ![]()
Alternatively, tell him to get it out of his system.Bust a move on her, give her an Abe Lincoln and move on![]()

Well he said he tried to entertain other thoughts in order to displace the infatuation from his mind and didn't even care for that person. But it lasted only 3 hours, then he couldn't manage himself anymore to keep a proper behaviour.
I told him to find a new girl (oops, it's even worse!) or keep intensively focusing on other things.
Three hours is an impressive start. He might manage four tomorrow, five the next day...
Involving someone else in your problems is never a nice idea. You don't want to be taking your baggage from one relationship into another one. It's not fair either.

How did his improper behaviour manifest itself?

Yes, it's true, he didn't listen to my advice and eventually came to a bitter end to realize that other person doesn't give a damn about him.

How come every thread on this site has ended up in a discussion about onanism?
If you want to talk about that, go away and do it on your own.

If it's not allowed, I doubt they 'pulled' the poor lad anywhere...
All that led me to think about the marriage per se. I want to walk on the grass with my girl, want to inhale the scent of her neck and feel the warmth of her glance. And in the evening I want to shampoo her hair and catch a smile that lasts in my memory for good. Is it so childish to wish for an adult?
How unfair that a marriage should suffer from poverty, lack of free time and worn-out feelings. But this is stupid, isn't? Marriage should be regarded as both a financial - (at least in USA, where one person hardly can exist on own salary) - and a hereditial insitution (to conceive and upbring children). I used to think in those terms when I was a teenager. Well I was right. If you love, you don't need any papers and lawyers.
My friend fell perfectly in the second category (incidentally he insemenated that girl who became his wife).
Is this the same friend who's nipping the girl at his work now, or a different friend?
I'm lost.

tell them that he is really gay or a virgin, with the virgin bit, they seem to run a million miles from you

Wait long enough and your girl will become an adult soon enough![]()
*UPDATE*
This friend of mine reported that that person has become actually more open to him and they even spend their dining time together at work. Now he said he's kinda confused and doesn't know what to do further because he doesn't really want to mess up his family (wife and kids) and her family. Now her husband is a drugdealer or whatever, and that woman told my friend that her husband is getting really pissed off at him (??) and my friend told me he doesn't need really anymore drama in his life. I told him again to stop fooling around. Is it an impasse for him? ![]()

I told him: Alexey, you are a fuckin daft moron! Well here's the news that girl's husband apparently got hod lof ger cell phone and called him and the ntexted gim some nasty message. My frined on MSN asks me what to do. I told him to stand up cos there was nothing really happened to shit about.
Alexey, it's business as usual, get your own coat and ocer your blistful ass.
Unfortunately, I think yer friend is at the end of a bad road. I bet this girl loves excitement and controversy. Messing around, or at least the thought, gives her excitement. Plus her husband probably doesn't pay enough attention to her (she likes the dangerous, alloof, mysterious guy) and getting her rocks off on yer friend, and then doubly so when her husband finds out. He tears through the house pissed off, shows how much he's jealous, and this is all a rush for her.... mean while yer friend gets the stab from the husband, and nothing but heartache.
In short, she's using him and he is discardable. unless he seriously wants to destroy his life, I'd drop her like a cheeseburger with a pubic hair sticking outta it....
