Love And Money

Did anyone see this the other night? Documentary about this bloke and his attempts to raise £2 Million to start up his own budget airline. He was clearly a total dreamer and you could just tell nobody was gonna touch him with a bargepole.

Him and his miussus had re-mortaged to the hilt, maxed their credit cards and were living on beans on toast along with their four kids. The documentary focussed primarily on their relationship though and it was clear that depite being flat broke and realising that her man was a bit of a clown this woman was still right behind him no matter what. Was very heartwarming and I'd say quite rare in these times.

Made you think about what it's all about in the end. During my adult life I've had either an abundance of cash or been right down to the bones of my arse. Been in both positions on several different occassions. Made loads and lost loads.

But what does it all matter in the end? Would you rather have loads of money or the kind of devoted relationship that these two had? An easy choice if you ask me. Don't lose touch with what's important folks.

One of the nicest things I read was an article by a woman about men dancing. She went on about how, basically, we can't and gave some cringing examples. She ended by saying that that there was one good thing about the fact that men can't dance. It is only when a woman sees a man dance to Abba with two left feet and his thumbs in the air that she san honestly say that she loves him.

Trouble is LIFE gets in the way of REALISING when you have got it made.But REMEMBER if you make the WRONG TURN you could end up like ME.If that don't make you get your act TOgether NOTHING will. Mind you LIFE was good in JUNIOR 2.

Did see a bit of it but couldn't work out how expelling all the air out of a packet of crisps so they could fit in his pocket would save him money

I saw it but I came away with a very different view,

scraping around for pennies so they could sort out the kids school lunches while still having a car each and not old bangers either.

And don't get me started on the fact that they had their families paying towards their mortgage and bills(that they were still defaulting on) insisting that it would all come right next month etc etc

yes eventually they did downsize and live more within their means when forced to, but talk about sticking your head in the sand.

Do you belive that tiny part of the program at the end when she said she had realised what was important in life was anything more than pride and a everything will all come good in another month attitude, given that they were STILL chasing their dream and weren't getting proper jobs to pay their debts and support their family.

Yup she loved him and stuck by him but then all that proves is they are both happy in cloud cuckoo land.

Hope those kids learn the error of their parents ways when it all goes tits up.

But i DON'T get any MONEY as i am NOT entitled nor feel the NEED to try!tHAT IS WHAT IS scary ABOUT THE WAY I LIVE.But i made the choice and live by it.When i need to i will WORK but i ain't bothered about THE MODERN WORLD.Had too many things NOT quite work out to be BOTHERED worrying about things you can't CHANGE.Live one day at a TIME and you can make STEADY progress.Never MISS an chance to have a LAUGH cos life can get pretty BORING and desperate EVEn on a GOOD DAY.Now must get back to DRAGONS DEN!

Minx, I agree with your analysis 100%. I was shouting at the telly at some of the fat bloke's antics. Especially when it came to choosing a new car. And what the hell were they doing sitting around waiting for this £2 Mill that was never gonna come when both of them could've been out working in the meantime??!!

Despite all of this I thought their obvious devotion to each other, in the face of the fat bloke's monumental fuck-ups, was quite touching. The way the documnentary was put together was really good also. Just a great bit of TV that made you think. Or made me think anyway.
