is anyone else watching this on HBO? i saw the first two parts last night, and it's pretty damn good. paul giamatti as john, laura linney as abigail, and tom wilkinson as ben franklin.

would've paid more attention to it if I wasn't whacked out on allergy medicine yesterday, looks very good indeed from what I saw (the a-holes at Comcast still don't have OnDemand available here, so I've gotta look at the listings to catch it again).

Didn't know anything about it, but then I don't have HBO. Is this a series of a mini-movie series? If it's any good I'll have to check it out on DVD... the Founding Fathers have always fasicinated me, favorite books to read are their autobiographies...

That was an EXCELLENT book. An amazing read. Really puts the Founding Fathers as they are, and still makes them completely fascinating (My sister also bought me his "1776", sometime back but haven't gotten around to reading it yet). If you have any desire, this is the second Founding Fathers book I'd recommend. The first is Ben Franklin's Autobiograpy.

I'll have to buy this one when it comes out to dvd if it is the normal high quality miniseries HBO puts out.

I haven't read the biography or seen the miniseries, but it is said to follow the biography very closely, so if you loved the biography, you'll probably love the miniseries as well. :thumb:

I thought you were just making that up! Miniseries.

But I googled it and you lot really use it as a word! :eek3:

Was the hyphen too much for you? Mini-series.

Ah well, I'm just off to avacuppatea.

That's a proper word though, innit?

Miniseries though. It doesn't even pronounce right as minny-sear-eez.

Shirley, it would be min-is-er-eez.

But then, maybe how that's they do pronounce it, I dunno?

If it was on the radio, would it be a miniseries of sound?

Miniseries is a telenovela.

Of course we pronounce it minny-sear-eez. What do you take us for-- maleducated provincial savages?
