I dont know how common knowledge this is but if (like me) youre fed up with the useless itunes I recommend "Anapod". Its great and works just like Window Explorer. You can upload tunes, etc from ipod to PC (which you cant do on itunes) and doesnt crash as much.

I got mine from www.piratebay.org. You also need bittorrent.

I just thought I'd share that bit of info with you.

Other than the uploading part, what is so terrible with iTunes? WMP sucks worse and has less options in organization than iTunes, so that's its like WMP isn't really a selling point....

....is it just me or does everyone automatically hate any software that becomes mainstream? I'm sure this other program has its faults, but when its an underdog everyone puts up with it happily....

Surely though that is a horrendous oversight on the part of Apple - traffic having to go one way, and one way only. Really, it's not on, is it? I use iTunes all the time, but have also forked out for CopyPod just to keep my iPod backed up the other way too. Really, it should be accessible like any hard drive.

It is accessible though, even without CopyPod. The only issue is that its all disorganized in strangely number/lettered folders. (check 'use iPod as harddrive' and in veiwing the ipod change the option to see hidden folders).

While I agree this is a huge oversight of Apple, I think the program itself more than makes up for the differences.... I seriously doubt this other program stated is free of any major issues...

My itunes crashes alot and is painfully slow. The fact you cant upload from ipod to pc, or connect another ipod (without losing all its contents) is absolutely obsurd.

I dont particulary like WMP either but I didnt bring them into the equation.

Windows XP is mainstream and I dont know anyone who hates it.

Other than the sharibility issue, I haven't had any of the issues you've had with crashing or being slow (though 7.0 was slow before it was fixed). How has it been crashing?

One thing I noticed is that WMP and iTunes don't like each other. If you have WMP open at the same time, it slows down iTunes and makes it do weird things... no other program has that effect on iTunes for some reason :confused2:
