"To: Dr. Uwe Boll

We, the undersigned, respectfully ask that Uwe Boll give proper weight to the wishes of the video game community, the horror community, and the film going community in general and stop directing, producing, or taking any part in the creation of feature films. His distasteful handling of the subject matter and lack of acknowledgement of his failures simply cannot be abided any longer.

Mr. Boll has repeatedly shown a complete lack of comprehension regarding the videogames he has dragged, kicking and screaming, to the silver screen and his ham-fisted approach to horror has soiled future possibilities for anyone else who may attempt to bring videogames to film.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned "

and the actual link and petition. Jeff prolly loves his work, :evil4: which includes, House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, BloodRayne, In the Name of the King (a Dungeon Siege movie) and Posta.

Apparently he said he would stop if there were a million signatures.

He can keep going as long his next game-screen conversion is,

Tux: A Quest For Herring.

Bloody hell! It's up to 190782 signatures! I've never heard of the geezer.

Is it true that he's supposed to be making a movie out of Far Cry? I heard that ages ago.

I've never heard of him either.

Shouldn't he be allowed to make films if he wishes though? I've never seen one of his films, maybe they're appalling, but no one is being forced to see them. Are they?

It's like petitioning for a musical act to stop recording or a football team to stop playing, just because you don't like them.

I vote that we petition David Cameron to stop having anything to do with politics

The thing is, a team you do not like, doesn't buy the rights to football so nobody else can play it.

So couldn't a film studio or games company buy the rights back? Or maybe someone suggest that he strikes a deal with a studio to remake one of the films to which he owns the rights and he gets a percentage of the box office takings?

Look, I'm not gonna be reasonable about this.

I just hope they can stop this guy, so I can start a petition to have septics banned from touching H.G.Wells or A.C.Clarke ever EVER E V E R again.

And no amount of well reasoned debate will be heeded ;)

I undersigned. Uwe Boll is a untalented freak. The master of boring, emotionless Videogame-Movies. I deny to call him Dr. Uwe Boll :D .

Ouch

What a cast  :evil4: :barf: (I'm leaving out Udo Kier with that comment).

The only reason I've ever heard of him is from hearing about people complain about him. Not only have I never seen or previously heard of any of the films he's made, I don't think I've ever seen or heard of any of the games they are based on (though I have heard of Far Cry, so that might be the first).

If he's as bad as they say, perhaps they'll one day make a film about him, like they did that Ed Wood guy (does he have an angora fetish?).

PS on the topic of film-makers just watched the complete series of Spielberg's 'band of brothers' on DVD. Never saw any of it before, missed it completely on TV. It's pretty good, infinitely better than most of Spielberg's 'serious movies', but these sort of things always make me feel like a total weed. If I'd been in the military I'd have ended up like that fat recruit in the first bit of Full Metal Jacket, no question.

I mean, in the middle of watching it I leave the room and accidentally bash the back of my hand against a stupid unnecessarily spiky door handle and start swearing and clutching my hand till I realise I'm making more of a fuss than the guy I just saw getting his leg blown off was making.

Well perhaps that's his task :skeptic:  .

As some of you meay know - I'm working in a film theatre. We had two films of Boll to show last year:

Postal and Dungeon Siege.

"Postal" had almost no viewers. The trailer is awesome :evil4: (did you see it?) I'll look for it on youtube and post it here...

"Dungeon Siege" had some more viewers, but I guess just because Jason Statham played the main part. I watched 10 min of that movie and almost fell asleep.
