'Things that Make you go Hmmmmm' by the C & C Music Factory almost brought a tear to my eye the other day.

sorry, mate. i couldn't sit through the whole thing!
Songs?
Been wracking my brain and can't think of ONE.
Instrumental pieces (and I supose the instrumental intros on a lot of songs), on the other hand can do terrible things to me.
When a certain well known Ron Grainer/Deliah Derbyshire piece came back to TV in 2005, I blubbed quite badly, though in fairness, that had as much to do with what the tune meant than what it was. Likewise, if in the early hours of a March Saturday in 2009, I hear the outro bassline from Fleetwood Mac's The Chain, I'll be a mess, but because of it's meaning rather than the notes.
There's a few others like that too.
Neptune from Holst's planets has an effect on me that's somewhere between the way a kitten goes when it's picked up by the neck, and getting a cricket bat accross the head. It's the "off stage choir" it's utterly other worldly and utterly, breathtakingly beautiful.

I'll second that emotion...
'we have all the time in the world' by louis armstrong.
tugs my heartstrings something rotten. i don't blub, though. i'm british.
themes to twin peaks, brideshead, and the deer hunter too. excuse me, i seem to have something in my eye...

Usually I cry when I get glum, so it's a bit more of a sad-song-type thing. Sooo...
"How" - Lisa Loeb "Don't Give Up" - Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush "The Drop" and "Here Comes the Flood" - Peter Gabriel "Don't Dream It's Over" - Sixpence None the Richer "Fire and Rain" - James Taylor "Hurt" - Johnny Cash
That's all I can think of for the moment. I'm not in the mood to be glum right now.
When I was two I told my Gran that Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony made me want to cry.
Since that, bugger all. ![]()
