I seldom watch TV, too. Well, maybe cookery programmes, and if there's the Japanese national football team playing a match, maybe, but I'm sick of tabloid styles news in the mornings. I seriously don't want to hear about some Japanese actor or pop star's secret date with so-and-so first in the morning when I'm eating my toast.
Oh, and Japanese soap operas are crap...is it any wonder there's lots of young people that watch American and British sitcoms/dramas instead?
I tend to read, listen to music, watch DVDs, or be online,instead of watching TV.

Likewise, but mostly because I spend my time making those cookery shows (shame) It is a useful familial lubricant. Otherwise the mrs and I would have to talk to each other. There are limits though, no man should have to sit through "Britain's Got Talent" - surely that's grounds for.... a reality show about divorcing couples. I'll be pitching it tomorrow!
TV is largely shit and gets shitter the more channels you subscribe to. Although, if it was all as good as "Mad Men" and "TV Burp" we'd never leave the house for work or interact with each other in any way.
As a medium, the excesses of shite can be forgiven for the few gems of that quality.

Instead of all these shitty talent show,can we just have a decent televised Battle Of The Bands show instead?
I hate commercial breaks. That's why I avoid private TV stations and rather stick to pay-TV. Or so called public TV (which the whole nation has to pay a fee for monthly - though it isn't pay TV) has gotten almost hilarious (and more interesting for older people).
So prefer playing videogames and/or listen to music, read a book, watch DVD etc. over TV.

I dont think there is anything stopping bands from going on shows like Britains Got Talent.
The only telly I watch is
RIVER COTTAGE- the greatest TV show the world has ever seen. I'll watch Family Guy and The Simpsons now and again. Sport. The odd Movie now occasionally. The Apprentice Any BBC documentary which looks half decent. Question Time The News Have I Got News For You Hairy Bikers cookbook and Rick Stein and I'll flick through the music stations every so often.

I thought Korean dramas were all the craze now.
Japanese do have the best game and talk shows though.
Bugger me Liam, you're game. The music channels on my Sky are all labelled "here be dragons".
I watch a fair bit of TV, but only downloads. I despise ad breaks (mostly cos they're so tightly compressed they're deafening compared to the show itself), and like watching series back-to-back. Currently watching some 1964 vintage Avengers, surprisingly up to date.
Actual TV reception is limited to, Dr Who, F1, BTCC and BGTC. Oh and the 24heures du mans in 3 weeks natch.
