Just can't get to like Scouting For Girls, they all sound the bloody same. Also the bloody song by THE FRAY. Depressing lazy voice! Julie laughs "But you like Joy Division.." :angry2:

The Enemy, though. I don't mind em, despite ripping off the Jam, a lot.

I actually dont mind The Hoosiers. Theyre a bit of light relief after listening to more intense stuff. They songs are very camp, quirky, catchy and play a nice homage to the 80's. At least they got a bit of personality and stage presence. Although I admit the singer has the most unrock n roll name going and is even shorter than Barney.

I hate miserable bands that take themselves too seriously. Thats why I like New Order.

Having been listening to the radio this week , I think I might have a new contender in The Fratellis "Mistress Mable". Personally it's the shitest song ive heard in decades!

Does anyone else feel ill hearing certain songs?

I hate that Hollies song, everytime I listen to it, the image conjures up of the lead singer, acting like a right ponce

About Mistress Mable, its so repetitive, its annoying

There's a whole slew of songs I can't fucking stand, a good many mentioned on this thread, so I won't go on repeating the whole lot...

I will say, however, "Jump Around" truly is a load of shite.

"Fools Gold" by the Stone Roses.

Probably the most overrated tune ever. If "tune" is what you could honestly call it - it's just a bassline and empty wah wah groove and it's so unoriginal it hurts. Like the boys decided that they should invent funk / groove overnight - and so many suckers fell for that. Let's get one thing straight shall we? The Stone Roses categorically did NOT invent "white boys who do funk", and just cos Reni can knock off a sub-James Brown drum lick does not automatically guarantee this song deserves the elevation to legendary status that has been so ill-bestowed upon it. Fuck off! The song is a load of cack!

Now before irate Roses fans start camping outside my house demanding my head be taken off and impaled on a ten foot high railing spike and paraded round the streets of Manchester accompanied by a cavalcade of massed bongo-bashing and baboon impressions, let me just make one thing clear - I love the Stone Roses first album and all of the singles that preceded "Fools Gold". For example, the likes of "Elephant Stone" and "Mersey Paradise" dump liberally all over "Fools Gold" from a great height. Even that rather iffy experimental b-side "Full Fathom Five" was actually a lot more original than this most overrated of Roses songs. At least it made me sit up and say "...what the fuck is that??" rather than stifle a load of yawns......

Okay, that's your favourite musicologist clocking out for the moment, until next time!

Pissin meself laughin at that bit , By Eck

That fuckin Sam Sparro hit that's been hanging round the airwaves for the last 4 months.Black & Gold is it called? What gets me is how the DJs hype up how "great" it is every time they play it >They're obviously getting a wad from the twat Sparro's record company to say that each time.No other song this year has had me frantically scrambling to change the station or the off switch like that overrated crap.Utter cack

Let's cut to the chase shall we? How on EARTH can somebody with a name like Sam Sparro be even taken seriously? let alone be so successful? With a name like THAT?????? Fuck me, is this guy a big Spingwatch fan or summat? (well, I know I am, but I don't labour under such a dodgy pseudonym......arf!) Maybe he should just cut the crap and call himself Tony Tit instead. Tossbucket!

Oh god absolutely. I thought it was just me. Its just so unrepresentative of the rest of their brilliant (but limited) back catalogue.

Otherwise, Red Hot Chilli Peppers consistently manage to produce the same hackeneyed, nauseating stadium cock rock bollocks that always appeals to those that refer to each other as 'dude':nonono:

The thing with jump around, is that the guy who is "rapping" is clearly an idiot.

"Pack it Up, pack it in, Let Me Begin" Unaware of the fact, that with the start of that sentence, he already has begun.

Twat.

Nothing wrong with New York / Oirish wannabe white rap music. Actually the singer in the video had a Celtic shirt on - the cock!!

I don't mean to be technical over a stupic song, but the "Celtic" shirt he's wearing is a "Celtics" jersey -- for the Boston basketball team, not the soccer/football team in the UK. The group was from Boston, not New York, hence all of the Irish pride paraphanalia. South Boston has a high percentage of Irish Americans and the parade footage in the video looks like it was taken from Southie's annual St. Patrick's Day parade.
