Floyd Mayweather signs for UFC

Rumours have begun surfacing that 'Money' Mayweather is set to sign a contract with the UFC now hes retired from Boxing, supposed to be a publicity thing to pull more boxing fans in to Mixed Martial Arts.

I have no idea where this has come from, or if there is any substance to it. but he'll be a failure.

Think about it, Brock Lesnar is a NCAA Champion, a legend in amateur wrestling circles, took two years to train for MMA and then lost his second fight in 90 seconds to Frank Mir.

Ok, Floys is quick and he's a great puncher, but thats all the experience he has. If its true, He's going to fight at Lightweight, and to justify the money, he's going to have to go in there against proper fighters. They'll take him down and pound the shit out of him.

Anywaym the annoucement could just as easily be UFC doing their first show in New York.

Dana White confirmed they have a big name boxer signing this week to bring 'legitimcay to the sport', and theres a press conference om Thurs planned to announce this and Anderson Silva is stepping up to Light Heavyweight.

It could just as easily be Roy Jones Jr, who Anderson Silva has been trying to fight for ages.

Time will tell I guess.

Incidentally if Anderson Silva does go up to Light Heavyweight to fight Chuck Liddell, I may have to consider going over to Las Vegas for that.

I think Anderson Silva is probably the best fighter by far in the UFC at the minute in all weight classes,never been disappointed with any of his fights.

And as far as Brock lesnar goes until he got caught with the heel hook Frank Mir was getting his ass kicked big time,a few more fights and to get used to UFC Octagon and i think Lesnar will be unstoppable, for his size he is so quick, and its ok doing training anyone can train but its in the real fights that you gain experience, so in time i think he'll be good.

Lesnars a beast, No doubt there. But, experience wise, was mouch more suited to MMA than Floyd Mayweather will be. Mayweathers going to throw a punch, and he could very easily get caught and tapped out. And its not like he's going to just be able to stand there and spar, whats he going to be able to do on the ground? How is he going to defend from submissions? Like I said, Lesnar trained for two years, and lost (ok, he looked devestating, but he still lost) whats Mayweather going to do, in what is a far more competetive devision?

It depends on how much time hes gonna give himself to prepare for his 1st fight, or what training (if any) he's doing now, i don't think Dana White is that stupid to throw him straight in as a straight up Boxer VS MMA guy cause he will get mauled on take downs and on the ground.only time will tell.

On a side note Bobby Lashley has signed up to MMA as well. In the IFL, don't know what team for.

Lashley will never end up in UFC because he'd have to come off the juice. Here's a guy who completed at amateur level at 187, and now muct be well over 300 lbs.
