But you don't need to register any personal info to get one.
If memory serves me correctly, they were originally going to use just ftp to transmit the data from the card... Erm...
Luckily, they were persuaded not to at the time!

Well, you can do FTP over SSL can't you, so that's what 468bit encryption.
But encrypted or not....have you ever had a fast login on an FTPserver? I mean EVER, even on a LAN? The queues would be amazing.

Fine, is that an early 90's Super computer with a CPU half as powerful as my gp2x handheld videogame/media thingy? Or would it be a supercomputer from 5-6 years ago with the same performance as the current nvidia GTX280 gfx card (1 terraflops)? Today-Supercomputer 10 years time-embedded in a toaster.
