Grand Theft Auto IV is once again at the centre of controversy. But this time people aren’t complaining that the game’s too violent, because they’re more concerned about the discovery of a so-called paedophile website.

In the game, an internet café allows the player to access a child pageant website called littlelacysurprisepageant.com. But, rather than showing anything untoward, the site’s actually a front for GTA IV’s police force and displays the warning: “We see it all, we know it all”.

However, clicking on the game’s spoof website is still a thrill because it automatically raises the player’s wanted level to five stars.

Several gamers have already voiced their concerns in a report in The Sun, with one gamer stating that the website crosses the line.

Jason Deschoolmeester, 23, of South Wales, said the website “could lead people to indulge in things like that. It is totally sick. I won’t play it [GTA IV] again”.

OK WHAT THE FUCK?

The game, having this in it is EVIL. But the actual kiddiepron fests with 7 year olds in slut gear that are so common in Jesusland (and presumably elsewhere) are OK.

I mean FFS that game's probably taking a dig at those sick fucks.

Those "pageants" are so fucked up, I can barely tell the real thing from the Chris Morris lampoon of them in the Brass Eye paedo special. (I have the same problem with Shrub and his 2dTV alter ego....I mean, on the rare occassions when I can stand to look at him spouting his ignorant hatefilled godbotherer shite....I honestly keep expecting to hear "yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk, it's Professor Liebstrom")

It sounds all good if you get 5 stars and the police blow yer friggin' head off for it!

Cambo, who ever said pedophiles in "Jesus-land", as you call it, is ok? Because they were punished within thier own system? Granted you just want a reason to rant over priests fondeling little ones so that you can go on about the Church... but that's not really the point though is it?

On a different tangent, I have already stated and still am under the opinion that GTA is not good for society. The makers have drawn a fuzzy line between good and bad entertainment. Human life should not be depicted so trivial; killing for mere enjoyment and points. That they have no sense of decency or morality to place something like this "website" on a video game only indicates that this is true...

The point is, a link, a ficticious one, referring to child pagaents is the end of the world. Yet nobody does anything about the actual child pagaents??????

I think GTA is fairly retarded, but I seriously doubt anyone would model their lives on it (I mean, I've been playing racing games for over 10 years and I can't even drive). Besides, anyone who DID emulate the behaviour espoused therein would be toast in seconds....real cops don't need to put 50 rounds in you in short succession to take you down. I would see such a thing merely as Darwin removing an idiot from the gene pool.

And I had no intention of bringing up "touching kiddies for Jesus".

ahhh... misunderstood yer initial post. I now see what you were saying. Child pageants are sick, was watching 60 minutes (or some show like that) around the JonBenet murder and they showed how these things went. The mothers were horrible pushing thier kids and many spectators become future imprisoned pedophiles... really a sick activity for your daughters after school.

I wish I could explain what I mean on GTA being a bad for society in a better way. The game gives the player the feeling of power over normal citizens, average day-to-day people. The power to take away life, steal from them, and use them for thier own will. Granted, this is in a game, and most people will walk away from the game and go back to normal life. However, there are many that are or feel completely powerless in thier real life, and thier mind starts thinking "wouldn't it be great if, like in GTA....". That thought is the starting point.

The truth of the matter is that society is one big facade. Its a big lie that everyone plays and gets along with each other. There is nothing that stops people from murdering one another, driving on the wrong side of the road, and doing what we perceive are crimes. We grow up accepting the rules of society and want to advance, so we listen to the rules. People like stability and foundation of rules, but once those rules are seen as a facade, then people act irrational and make different choices than they would when they where oblivious to the facade.

GTA breaks the facade, and it does it in a way that no other game has. It has a link to the players actual life. They aren't doing these things in a foriegn environment (like space or a beachhead), they are doing it in a place similar to thier own backyard. The seperation between reality and game are less than other games out there. The reality of the game doesn't end when they walk out the door, there is a link... and that link is what is dangerous.

Correction, its overpopulation with the wrong DNA.... I should be having like 300 kids while others stop reproducing all together, to save the Earth

Right on, Miss Disco! The human population (already too large, IMO) will keep growing exponentially. Look at a curve of the worldwide popluation over the past 2,000 years and it is alarming! Most people either don't want to acknowledge that it's a problem, and even if they did, they'd be too selfish to do anything about it (i.e., not have kids). I think people get brainwashed by society into thinking they must have children, or they're not complete people, or some such rubbish.

Well I would answer in a logical and reasonable answer, but in seeing he is only saying crap (as usual) to russle my feathers, I see no point to it.

Well, I haven't fallen for that crap. In fact, the only thing stopping me from getting myself sterilised is that I'm scared of the op going wrong and me dying on the table (or not long after) through the incompetence of the surgeons - that happened to one of my family (who was being operated on for something different) but that's a whole other story.

Good idea. Next time I go for an X-Ray, I'll tell them to put away the lead shield, so my boys can get a nice dose of X-Rays. I hope they don't go Hulk on me, though. I'd hate for them to get big & green every time I get pissed off!

Yes, I've never had surgery ("procedures" excluded), and would like to keep that record intact as long as possible.
