"straight home from work, sweet cheeks"

the furore surrounding this has been tickling me something chronic.

anyone got an opinion they'd care to share with the rest of the class?

so, some 39,999,800 viewers thought it was cool, 200 didn't, so it has to go.

Ahhh, I'm glad we bomb those little brown kids to protect our free democratic state.

I don't geddit, no soundcard at work.

Are they supposed to be a genuine gay couple?

Or has the big burly deli bloke got a female vocal (their Mum's?) dubbed over.

As I said on the Guardian discussion, the real scandal is that the levels of salt and fat in this crappy foodstuff are so high that Heinz are banned from advertising it during breaks in children's television programmes. However, this advert is clearly aimed at parents.

I've not seen the advert, so I can't say whether it would turn me gay or not.

The point is that the Noo Yoik style deli mayo that they're peddling is so authentic that the nuclear mother, dutifully preparing packed lunches for her husband and kids, turns into some sort of hard-talking Italian-style Noo Yoik deli owner.

She carries on acting like a woman though, doing all the housework and kissing her husband.

Daily Mail readers got all offended that it was a gay kiss and 200 of them complained enough to get the advert in the newspapers.

There were no tongues, aparently, and all the mayo stayed in the jar.

They should have asked me to do the advert. I bet I could do a great mayo advert. Everyone would complain about that

Really?

Did you berate her for her sexist attitudes in being so dismissive about men's feelings?

Did anyone else think that was Robert de Niro when he first turned around? :eek3:

I think it's great. Fucking braindead kneejerk Daily Mail fuckwits.

Just think: in a few years we'll have ads for baked bean where half a dozen gay lads just fuck on screen. Felching, rimming, the works. It'll be great.

I'm actually thinking of getting into advertising. The New Brutalism it'll be called. All my ads will feature Rocket Mick and there'll be no pissing about. I'll get a contract with the folk who produce the stuff that helps get rid of a nasty bout of Thrush. Mick'll just stand there and say:

"ITCHY FANNY, LOVE??"

[Thrusts product towards camera]

"THEN GET SOME OF THIS ON YER MINGE!!!!!"

Really, this is the future.

how can you comment at all if you've not seen it?

i predict you WILL be taking a gay lover as a result, and inviting others to join you in this, er, position.

The joke really wasn't clear was it now? I think the punch line at the end was given really weak. You have to pay attention too hard to get the joke... if they made it clearer, I don't think it would have been pulled or complained about...
