I want to play GTA 4.
I have a PS2 but apparently the PS3 wont support my PS2 Games.
So what should I get?
Bear in mind, i will probably only use it for GTA and Pro Evo and random sports games.

if your not bothered about Blu ray etc, then probabaly an X-box 360 half the price if you go for the arcade pack
Presuming Blue Ray is High Definition DVD, or something like that. No, i aint fucked about that.
What the hell is an arcade pack?
PS3 because I believe the on-line gaming is free, however with Xbox you have to pay. (I might be wrong though)
Actually I heard that there is a new, more expensive platform of PSP3 that can play the PSP2 games... but it is something around $100 more here that the regular PSP3.
I'm by no means an expert, but I do know that all my sons friends complain about the PSP3, saying that it sucks and the XBox is better... and these are kids that tend to have all the consoles... not sure how much a group of 10 years olds word is worth on the matter though...
Id say go for the xbox 360, cos i've got both and they're about as good as each other, but the PS3 costs more.

I think its different size memory, the arcade is a a basic X-box and about 512mb memory(i think) and the Elite has a HDMI port and 20GB HDD(i think).

Arcade has a basic memory capacity, premium has a 20 GB hard drive, and the elite has a 120 GB hard drive. ![]()
If you want a Blu-ray player, get the Playstation 3. if you don't play online or that much you don't need as much hard drive. Some Playstation 3's will play 2 games, but support for them has been variable, depending on the release.
If you just a few games in mind to play, just get what is cheapest.

Apparently the red screen of death has nw been sorted out on the Elites
X-box 360 roxx...fucking great machine, especially when played on my 106 cm wide plasma-screen!!!![]()
PS3 has a blu-ray, that's the only let down but just bought myself a stand-alone blu-ray player so that's solved![]()

My two year old XB360 came down with the red rings of death. I shipped it to a replacement center and Microsoft sent me a reconditioned unit for free. The shipping was on Microsoft's nickle, too. ![]()
I have never liked the xbox gamepad, to chunky for my hands, and the buttons are in the wrong place, is this an ergonomic design?

So are you calling Liam's thread a FAILURE?
no, i am pointing out a factual error.
i would not copy his habit of calling things a failure on here as frankly i find it a little bizarre
i had a xbox within weeks of release. it lasted 6 months b4 the red ring of death. the add-ons make it more expensive than ps3 (wireless +100).
i have a wii for the kids, great device, great price, great games.
the ps3 is my current game console. this is mostly due to the blu-ray player. i do have a 1080p samsung.
xbox has more games.
i am going to vote for the ps3. the reliability of xbox is horrible. my frineds have ALL had theris fail. some of them multiple times. and the ps3 chief weaknes is depth of titles.
i have GTA 4 for the ps3 and consider it a fantastic game.
the ps3 controllers have built in recharge (option for xbox)

i have yet to pay to play online with ps3. it's like 50+$ for the xbox.
