Cracking stuff, especially the early stuff which sounds like it was put together on a BBC Micro in 10 minutes.

Wish they'd come out with a new album, although Kirk seems to suggest that there'd be no role for Mallinder.

I like their 80's stuff, too. Still, if they put out a new album, it would probably be shite, like with most 80's bands still running around today.

I have pretty much all of their albums, as well as Mallinder's solo album and tons of Kirk's stuff. I must say that Kirk is great at rhythms and programming, but he needs someone like Mallinder to give his tracks some form and direction. On the other hand, Mallinder is much better with concepts than musicianship. Of course their best work was with Chris Watson.

Amen to what Aries said above, The Voice Of America, Red Mecca and 2x 45 are still amongst my most played albums today. Love the Three Mantras record, though the b-side called The Safety Zone is probably my fave Cab track of all time.

I bought the 2002 Nag Nag Nag remixes 12" single and the follow-up Yashar 12" (Alter Ego remix), together with the Micro-phonies album and some second-hand singles (Don't Argue etc.). I've never really come across a hit by Cabaret Voltaire that really strikes me melodically, which is a shame. :\ohwell:
