I don't think so. The reason I put up the info on the Founding Fathers, is that it was a time in human history when great men put thier personal intrests aside for an idea as fragile as a whisper. They weren't normal revolutionaries simply fed up with thier government. Though each party has its differences, they both believe in the basic idea that the Founding Fathers created. I'm not sure if there has been another time in history when so many intellegent men came together to forge an idea to make everyone's life much better. The idea isn't merely contained to US borders, as it has affected the World over, every 1st world country has taken something from the model and bettered their society.

Also note that the orginal idea of Lockean Liberalism, which is the foundation of the ideas, came from a Brit

The war was started by a declaration of rights, not a use of terror. Though the Boston Tea Party might be thinnly equated to an act of terrorism, no other aspect of the war had any "systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion".

They appear to have had the aim of regime change, or more specifically the reflection of foreign influences in their own government, in common with terrorists.

The founding fathers of the USA were way worse than common terrorists... they were bloody liberals! Separation of church and state? Three balanced branches of gov't to prevent tyranny? My favorite books are nonfiction, usually based on history. Most history taught in schools is a bunch of wankery, stuff when you dig deeper you find ain't as peachy as they portrayed. The Founding Fathers is a different story. The more I read about them, the more amazing they are. Each were great men in their own right, that they all existed at one time was amazing, more amazing is that each played a vital role. Unlike most movements through mankind, that rely mainly on one person, each Founding Father played a specific role in which the outcome could not have happened without them. To me, its more than flagwaving and patriotism, it really shows what humankind is capable of.

Mostly all good nonfiction history books don't glamorize the characters. Too bad yer cynical about history, though I don't blame you. Schools really fuck kids up with incorrect history, glamourizing people or telling the history only from one side.... then the population become all up in arms when someone tells the truth of the situation. Our Civil War is a perfect example. People rant on and on about how Lincoln went into war to "free the slaves", and while that isn't entirely incorrect, the real cause for the war was to increase Federal control (forming a stronger republic) and lessen State control. But mention this and people really get pissy about it.

I'm not fooled by flag-waving, lets all get patriotic books. The books I have read (maybe around 40?) really are on the level, there should be bound to be one that is cynical about something... and while the people definately do have thier faults, the whole period really is amazing... I definately suggest anyone to pick up any book on the matter, even if you aren't American...
