What's your guys take on this? Even though I haven't seen the UK version of the show, I feel like I'm going to hurl with the US version. Why? Why? Why?

I think the last straw was seeing a "US version" of a Harry Potter book, in which Harry ate "chips" and threw the wrapper in a "trashcan"(not to mention it being re-titled to "sorcerer's stone" cos no cunt in Jesusland knows WTF a philosopher is.

Do WE re-write every single US show? Did we correct "to boldy go"? Do we censor the appalling rape of our language in US shows to protect our children's brains?

No.

Why? Because as rational, thinking, human beings, we can conceive of the notion that people in other countries (even religio-totalitarian states), may just have their own, perfectly valid, way of doing things.

I have to agree with you Cambo. Unfortunately I think Hollywood thinks they are the end all begin all of movies and television... somehow they think they can do it better... not to mention the overtly PC crowd over here that thinks everything needs to be reworded so not to offend anyone.

Another victim to Hollywood is the Japanese Horror movies.. sooooo much better in original form and yet Howllywood can screw them up so bad.
