'bar rock' NOT 'baroque', apparently

the hold steady.

i realise i'm pretty late to this party, but i've been hearing good things about these fellows. the tracks i've heard so far haven't grabbed me though. anyone got an opinion?

i would like to praise them as they hail from brooklyn but i think they may be a bit overrated. They have some good tunes but i haven't managed to listen straight thru any of their albums.

good live show tho. I prefer the singer's old band lifter puller.

Mark Radcliffe had them on in session the other night but my mind kept wandering off every time they played .

And then the attitude "Oh, I'll repeat this on the board because everyone else is bound to find it funny" and yet no one fucking understands, so why fucking bother? Total fucking failure.

Anyway, The Hold Steady are great. New albums is tops, and Boys and Girls in America is one of the finer albums to come out of America in good while.

ithought franz ferdinand was an okay band for a while. started noticing similarities between them and the hives,the strokes. where are these people now?

may I remind you that this board has standards, albeit lax ones. I fail to see how starting utterly nonsensical threads for ones amusement is any different from the trolling and spamming that occasionally ruins the board.

Telling me to fuck off became passe at some point in 2004, if not before. Trying to create a personality cult around oneself through sheer nonsensical posting was never fashionable and should not be rewarded.
