Whats the point of Capers? They look like bogies, taste of nothing and dont seem to do anything.

Also, just like to point this out as a ***** Thread. You click on the link on the forum, and you instantly know that its a topic about... Capers. Now that might seem to be a difficult concept to understand, but really its not.

Anyway, i have three jars of Capers in the fridge. I dont know who bought them or why, as none of them have been opened. Any ideas?

I have had a tin of kidney beans in my cupboard for years. I wouldn't dream of eating them but can't lose the tin as it's always there trying to get my attention when I'm rifling through the tins at the end of the month when my Venison and Swan have run out.

You know, if I call something a failure, it has weight behind it, in more ways than one. However, if you do it, no one cares for a number of reasons, not limited to:

1- Your username references the twat of a frontman from the most pompous, shallow, self publicising, hypocritical and pretentious band on the planet and a gimmick from the board that peaked two years ago, which one person only goes back to because he's taking the piss- that being my close, personal, long time friend, the legendary Digi Mike.

2- No one fucking cares what you think. So just fuck off.

Anyway, back to Capers. Wikipedia has, a bit like BonoShed trying to be entertaining, failed miserably in my quest to find out the point of Capers.

Does anyone use Capers in any recipes?

And Johnny, I've never made Falafel. But I'll tell you this, if I did, I bet it would be fucking lovely.

Liam, I come in peace. Capers are salty. I have them in my fridge. Bought them for one recipe last year and I can't even remember what the recipe was. Sometimes I get adventurous, but the more adventurous I am when I cook, the less chance there is that my kids will eat it.

That is what I'm talking bout! Swan! Why the weird tabboo? Is it the 'mate for life' sentiment connected to them, that deters us from farming the bitches? Look at them.Swan just has to be good eating.I bet it is absolutely nectar fodder.

I've heard the Queen eats it...on the sly, like.

Cheers. Please be kind.

My kids can be fussy little cunts too..I've got a steady 7 or 8 dishes that I know they will all get tore into, but I'm looking to broaden that,somehow..It's a bit like better the devil you know when sorting out the family menu..Trial and error sorta, wanna broaden it,but feel like punching them in their ungrateful cakeholes when they bust my balls that they don't dig their old fella's beef bourginion??? knowwarramean??

Anyhow, sunday dinners, spag bol, fish and chips, fullish brekkies, curry, chilli con carne all go down well, but owt else and they start giving me chew about it and leave mountains of it....which is bang out of ordery, unless it is dirty bitch on toast, which I will freeze and eat it later myself,if i can't eat it all there and then:laugh:

I asked for panda liver in Waitrose a few weeks ago and they looked at me like I was some sort of criminal. Bastards. I'll go to a proper butcher next time. I only wanted enough for a pie.

They should do what I do. Grow your own! The price is definitley right.

I'm doing a BBQ later today (providing it doesnt piss it down), so last night I was rummaging through my Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall books for a bit of inspiration. One receipe had Capers in it. And i've never seen Heston Bluemnthal use them on his show, so I dont know what they are for.
