... but what is the "Band Name/Song Title Game" thread all about?!

It's fcuking huge now. Why are people still adding to it? Has anyone won yet?! :skeptic:

And yes, I know I don't need to open a thread if I see the subject matter I don't like, but this one I really do not understand. Someone says some words, someone else some more words including one of the original words?!

I am totally missing the point. Can someone explain?! This might be fun in a pub with a handful of mates, but when it's chucked over to the World Wide Web it softens the impact somewhat!

It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. It is played on other forums. If you don't like it, don't play. Other people seem to like it, so what's the harm? We're not posting just words. They are song titles and band names.

Oh, and there is no winner. It can go on forever. I have seen on some forums where the pages go into the thousands. :D

It's not really a 'game' though, is it? It's rather pointless. I might as well just start a thread with the number '1' and then ask everyone to contribute by adding '1' to my number. It's just as difficult. Perhaps if someone chucked in a completely esoteric track with some Cornish words in there, or summat (Aphex Twin anyone?) then it might slow it down a bit, or kill it, but that's unlikely!

I'm sorry, but I really just don't geddit. As I said, it might be 'a larf' sat in a boozer with just a few mates using your wits in real-time. But when opened up to the net, it just seems pointless (that word again).

Really, I'm lost.

The only games that work on forums are ones that take little to no thought or education but make the person feel intellegent afterwards, or at least clever. I found the game interesting for a few moments, but then slapped some sense into myself later...

At least its not as pointless a thread as "what are you listening to right now"....
