Last Monday I was watching Surrey battle Warwick on BBC2 when there was a music round in which Paxman asked the teams for the name, title and artist of popular music clips.

The starter for ten was Stairway To Heaven, which Warwick got right. One of the three bonuses was Blue Monday. Warwick answered: "1981, Blue Monday by Joy Division".:eek3: Warwick won the contest and will appear again in the second round. Hmm...:banghead:

Come to think of it, Liam would make a good successor to Paxman on Newsnight when he finally hangs up his poorly suppported Y fronts

There was a question about Joy Division in some dumb quiz in the newspaper this week.

I wasn't going to mention it but as this thread is here anyway.

Back in January 1989 when Technique came out the Radio 1 DJ ooh Gary Davies ooh Gary Davies ooh Gary Davies on your radio posed a question about New Order on his lunchtime show to a listener as part of a quiz yer know

In fact funnily enough the first time i ever heard any tracks from Technique were on Gary Davies' Radio 1 show.He previewed Dream Attack and Mr Disco in early January 89 on his lunchtime show.Strange but true.

... and while we're here. Why is it when Radio Station's say they're going to be playing some New Order, is it always Blue Monday. There ARE other songs that radio listeners know, 3 times this week - XFM twice and Radio 2.

XFM only generally play BM, TF or Regret by NO. And LWTUA, Transmission and SLC by JD. BM has lately been the bloody 88' version.

If you are very lucky they play BLT or Ceremony.

I listened to Test Match special today instead.:thumb:
