A little while ago, my mum was watching a DVD of the Pet Shop Boys (I can't remember the title!), and she didn't tell me that we had it. She thinks they have strange songs, for some reason.

Well, sometimes the beat (e.g. peppy) doesn't match the lyrics (e.g. sombre), and Niel Tenants voice is perhaps a bit unusual. Other than that, I'm not sure what your mum is on about.
