Ditto.

As for "how come the scousers I know are pleasant folks, and the ones on the radio/tv are congenital imbeciles?"

The media is run from where? You can see it now.....

"I say, phoebe, we need some northerers for a piece on why the north is so beastly" "ooooh, that's a wizzard idea Algy, would you like them to be deformed or just unbelievable poorly educated and regionally obsessed?"

"Oh, raaa-ther, last week we nearly showed a scotsman who was sober and coherent, people might have wondered if everyone north of the M25 actually were mere animals. It just wont do".

That's cos "old drunk tramps" are always Scots in real life.

Der.

Oh, or Oirish, natch.

Don't try and tell me the pavements of Glasgee are littered with posh old blokes from London supping meths from their bowler hats.

Y'know I WAS gonna take issue with that......then realised how weak my position would be ;)

Shooooooorely though, that proves it's grim down south....these fine souls from the more noble lands reduced to shells and shadows of their former selves, fueled by tins of Spesh and bottles of bucky?

I mean it's not like the Scots or Oirish are noted for being drunken and agressive in their native lands now IS it.

Having recently been on holiday in Scotland it's quite untrue that all Scots are drunks. However those that are drunks arequite clearly world class in their field.

It takes literally years to learn how to do it properly. You can actually be told off for drinking wrongly up here.

Half and a half, sir?

Typical stuff. I have had London-area people at work. They will ask me where I'd like to go in the UK.

When I say "Manchester." I always wanted to go see the place that inspired a lot of my favorite bands.

They look befuddled and ask "Why Would you want to go there?"

Is it me or do Londoners believe that everything north of Oxford/Cambridge is full of heathens?

Ha ha you'd end up pissed if you asked for that up here.

And skint!

(Not that I'm against the idea)
