I did like the comment that someone made on the TV recently. He said that fans of The Boss actually believe that as soon as he comes off stage he returns to a trailer and works on his truck until the next gig.
He has done well at cultivating his Man of the People image.
Personally, I think he's a bit overrated. He should have chucked a dance beat in in 89 and gone techno.
Wasn't Nils Lofgren in his band though? Not much else you can do apart from rockandroll with a name like Nils Lofgren, is there?

Don't know the first thing about Bruce Springsteen, but feel that I should probably learn cos he always seems dead respected by people I know who genuinely know their muzak.
He did sing with Queen at the recent Mandela gig though. That's a big No-No, shirley? 
Cant beleive you are being so tolerate Al. I expected you to say he was a right C and you detest his bland boring and unchallenging music.

I don't mind the odd song or two by him now and then which is a progression from when i first heard of him when Born In The USA came out.Back then the mere mention of just his name would send me to sleep.
He's alright but gets vastly overrated on far too many occasions which i can never understand quite why

Never cared for any band out of Jersey... they all have the simlar looks and feels that just are completely boring to me. Music that has the feeling that its 'for the people, by the people' just irks me.
So in short, he's overrated crap

Springsteen would brag he has shagged more lasses than you,cos he's famous..you can tell it in that Philadelphia song where he's singing all quietly,almost serenely somehow lulling you in,then goes deftly, na-na-na-na-na-nah..na-na-na-na-na-nah..

Springsteen is sort of the American version of U2, not as much a douchebag as Bono thou.
went to see him, mostly for reasons al lists, but also cos i figured he's one of those people that you should see live.
have to say a lot of the concert was a bit dull for me - but there were a few songs that were very good.
