Why? I can't say I know too much about them. I do like their music though. Remember watching a bit of a documentary about them a while back but was more interested in their guitar collection!

'Set The Controls For The Centre Of The Sun' is probably m favorite of theres.

For a short time in the early 80s the press were calling N.O. the new Pink Floyd.

No...

And why would you want to reappraise Seona Dancing? They were very bad by the way.

He's not a wanker at all.......He's a lovely fella.....a bit camp but each to their own I suppose.........wouldn't have thought anybody on here would know him.....ah well......hey-ho

EDIT:

Oh, sorry, Pink Floyd............I misread it.....thought it was Pink Lloyd........the gay bloke who owns the Roebuck in Haslingden.......my mistake:)

I think there are two different rock/pop bands, ones that try to be the best rock/pop band in the world, to attain world attention and those that try to make the best rock/pop music they can that makes themselves happy and fcuk the world.

I tend to like the latter type of band. Pink Floyd definately fits in that category, but to have that attitude it requires someone in the band to be a complete and utter wankjob, which Waters definately was. Same goes for NO really, Barney was our wanker.

Well oddly enough I rediscovered them after seeing Ricky Gervais on Letterman. 'Bitter Heart' is a great song

Followed closely by Shine On you Crazy Diamond and Comfortably Numb - strange as it may seem, I often go to sleep with the Dark Side of the Moon album!

Just dont get them at all. The song structures seem bloated and haphazard, with guitar solos that emerge out of nowhere and ejaculate forth for about 10 hours. Their live shows are more like exhibitions and inspire nothing apart from utter nausea. Its all rather vague and up its own arse.

I do agree yet lyrics like on High Hopes strike a deep chord. In the video the white balloons released out of the back of the car and go eagerley tumbling down the lane represent our enthusiasm, wild imaginations and high hopes of youth as we set off down the road of life before we become tired and jaded by reality .True dat:nod:

So you think Seona Dancing are good and Pink Floyd are wankers...hmmm I think you may have that the wrong way round.

Great band, although they got less interesting as Roger Waters took control of everything. When they were a proper group, with everyone chipping in, they were glorious.

Certainly Waters ended up a total wanker and a total whining bitch. Gilmour ended up a total whore, exploiting the brand name for untold wealth.
