First time in a long while I've actually been really looking forward to an Oliver Stone movie.

From what I've read it's quite sympathetic. Which I guess makes it more interesting than the hatchet job most were anticipating.....

EDIT: Er, even though the trailer makes it look like a hatchet job.....

Well, he was more or less sympathetic in his treatment of Nixon (or at least far more sympathetic than he certainly could have been), so I expected as much...though giving it a comic tone instead of Nixon's classical tragic tone should make for interesting viewing.

Bush is a comical character. A complete dimwit, but at one point had something about him that the American people found likeable. Sarah Palin is like that to a lesser degree I think. I hope the film at the same time shows how awful Bush's judgment has been, how he is Dick Cheney's puppet, and how he cracks under pressure. Can't wait till it comes out in the states.

I think I'll wait for the DVD to come out. I'm a proud liberal, but I'm so reluctant to see what Stone has in store for the portrayal of W. I saw the trailer and was shocked at how immature he acted in college (ie. I never drank beer like water like a frat boy would). Plus, this movie makes me hate W. even more.

Damn right!

Oliver Stone is overrated... I like historical films, but his addition to fiction is just unbearable...

...Charlie Wilson's War is much better... I like it better when they try to be as close to fact as possible...

Looks great, can't wait.

Are you kidding? Chick was probably doing cartwheels because it was another chance for someone in her life to portray a conservative and a Republican in the worst possible light.

You were shocked (!) at GWB's immaturity in college! Look, it was not a prerequisite to belong to a frat in order to "drink beer like water". My friends and I were proudly GDI and we drank beer like it was water because that's what the beer we could afford tasted like. :D

Anyway, as for the film, I say to Mr. Stone, "No bonus for you salaryman!"
