The Credit Crunch

Has anyone felt the effects of the credit crunch directly yet? apart from seeing shares slide on the news etc and whats in the press i havent felt it directly yet. not that i'm rich or anything, but just wondering if any average people have been affected yet?

My main outgoings are mortgage payments so it's interest rate rises that will make me suffer most.

Yes. My boss is treating me like a c___ even more.

I got made redundant.

Then got on a course which i'm getting more money to train than i will when i actually qualify.

Nothing yet.... however it has just been leaked that several Local Authorities have money tied up in one of the Icelandic banks, Kent Council to the tune of £50m.

If mine has, not sure what will happen really, probably won't get the pay rise that I should have had in April, may lose job due to cuts... who knows!

Not as yet but i think its only a matter of time......where I work they are changing shift patterns for the guys on shifts and taking 200 notes/month off em as a result......I am days so it ain't affected me yet. I'm the process engineer in a cd replication plant,(keep my views on the reissues to mesell), so I was thinking that we'd be ok with folk scaling down their christmas spend, ie 'I normally spend £20 on suchabody but this year I'll get em the new Kyber Chefs album for a tenner' and that seems to be the case.........works very busy....I'm hoping to fix me mortgage at a decent monthly payment for the next 10 years when it'll be paid off.......the price rise of absolutely everything and the non increase in wages for this year puts more of a strain on the purse strings but at the mo its not too bad.......running 2 motors is a pain in the feckin arse though.....insurance companies robbing you blind, £25 notes for insurance for the eldest to do karate lessons, WTF.........keep ya posted.......

Had a mortgage with Northern Rock when they went bust,and subsequently became very uncompetitive in the mortgage market..Probably spent about £800 more than I had to,because I was slow,just through laziness,in swapping to a better rate with Abbey..

Mordor stopped rolling steel due to lack of orders for 4 days last month,which is a bad sign...

The mill is pounding it out again now though.. It's when they stop building skysrapers,bridges and the like..Then it's beans on toast.
