What's Cargo like? Site seems to suggest entrance is free before 9. Is this likely to be the case when a band's on? Or should I book in advance?

Funny that, doesnt say anything on the Cargo's website about Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Interpol, Maps, Editors etc playing at Cargo.

Walked over the Brooklyn Bridge about a month ago. Went to that place that juts out into the river, underneath it, then went for a mooch about in Brooklyn Heights. It's nice, mad amount of lasses pushing prams, though, presume they were all nannies. We sat outside this cafe and there must have been 20 go by in about 40 minutes. Don't know the verrazano bridge.

Indeed. Depends, were they white babies being pushed along by women of color?
Ton of money there. I quickly got priced out of there. that hood has great history. Capote, Lovecraft, Whitman, and Arthur Miller all lived there. Battle of Long Island mainly took place in Brooklyn Heights in that war you may recall.

Cargo is lovely, Hank. It's basically a big railway arch with a bar built around it. Free before 9 indeed but you'd need to pay to get into the bit the band's playing in (under the arch itself).
It's situated in the most pretentious part of London though (think: Nathan Barley) and a lot of the clientele reflect this. Some nice little old skool boozers around there though, but all full of more meeja-type folk.

Aye, that's the main reason I clocked they were likely nannies. You see a fair few white girls around here, pushing darker skinned babies but seldom the other way around.
Interesting about the history. Wasn't aware of that.

Get yourself a little further down on Rivington Street beforehand. The Bricklayers Arms owns a tidy juke box as well as offering up a good atmosphere. My Girl and I had this little lot in the early hours of last Saturday morning in Cargo as part of Concrete And Glass Festival
