That is almost alien. I've never heard anyone say "Mackem" without it being swiftly followed by "twat" before.. I loved it when Peter Reid managed those whiney cunts,on the football phone-in up our way,me like...And Mick MaCarthey for that matter..

I find it bizarre how accents survive in this day of international culture and pop culture diversity. It seems to be more demographic than regional where I live. You can hear 5 different white people, all from the same area, but tell a lot about them, they can be so different

I was born in Brum; but........don't get it.........I've been saying that all day, and no one has found it funny........

This is a quality website on Brum slang - I particularly like the black country saying for "hospital" as "horse-pickle"

i'm partial to a welsh accent. or a yorkshire one. or lancashire. or scottish. any regional northern. depends who's doing the talking though, doesn't it?
