erm...we took the kids out trick or treating...Dana's daughter decided to puke about 15 minutes into it...end of night...

now back at their place, drinking beers...well, me, not the four year old...

so a rather uneventful night for us geeks...

My Mum held a Halloween party for my niece and nephews and some other children. It was lovely seeing them all so excited and dressed up. Even driving up there, the streets were full of kids that had really put an effort in.

Course, I had to leave soon after. The noise!

Last year 3 teenagers knocked on mine, 3 days before Halloween and with just a scream mask expecting money. They just looked at my sweets in disgust. Now that, I object to!

I believe you know my stance on "trick or treat", but what was the normal Halloween begging procedure oop Norf before that weird foreign custom corrupted our children. Locally it went something like.

Halloween is coming and the geese are getting fat. Please put a penny in the old man's hat. If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do. If you haven't got a ha'penny, GOd bless[1] you.

[1] Often "god help you" in nastier estates.

Replace with "We'll put your window through" :evil4:
