Caught his stand up show in Leicester, fookin crackin night out. He did a lot of stuff that he has done on Mock The Week, but it was still dead funny, he also gave us a few jokes which he says the editors of Mock The Week refuse to show, something along the lines of "The Queen celebrated her 60th anniversary last year, why do we celebrate a German in charge? And on top of that she's married to a Greek, she must have an arsehole like a broken catflap"

I can mind a few more, but they are a wee bit close to the bone at this time of the day. He also ripped the piss out of our very own BALDRICK, he asked Darren where he worked and Darren said Weetabix - to which he replied "It doesnae look like yer eating any of it, yer a wee bit on the thin side"

Cannae mind the name of the warm up comedian, he was from Northern Ireland and looked Billy Connollyesque with a mad beard, he was magic an all.

Great night out, highly recommend catching him if ye's havnae yet

:D

He also went on about Maggie Thatcher, saying how they were talking about giving her a 3 million pound state funeral, he said it would be easier to give 3 million Scots a shovel to dig a big hole and hand her straight to Satan themselves :thumb:

I liked his Princess Di one, about them having a gig for her, "why not have something that reflects on her life, like a gangbang in a minefield"

Me and Frankie Boyle were sent from St Convals up to the 'big school' (Holyrood Secondary) to represent our primary in a public speaking competition. Needeless to say he romped it. He told a gag about standing in dog shite. That's the only specifics I can remember of his 'turn'!

I ended up eventually going to a different 'big school' killing the chances of us developing into a comedic double act of Hale and Pace proportions. We'd've looked like the fuckin Proclaimers of comedy mind you.

Confused.....he's gotten away with Lady Di gags, but not Camilla ones? Was this in Engerland? Baffled in fact. Did I miss a meeting or something?

Anyone who rips the Von-Windor familly has to be good.

This isn't the guy claimed Scotland invented global warming so they could sit up their mountains and watch the Engerlish drown???

It was the other way round Doc, He did a gag that Camilla and Charles were in India last year and the Indians were saying Diana has let hersel go a bit and he also did a gag that Camilla looks like how Diana would have looked had she survived.... The crowd weren't too amused mate, so he didnae do the joke about the minefield that Gazman mentions above. There's still high feeling towards Diana down here. I have no idea why.

Ahhhhh right. I always though camilla looked like an inflated "human costume", but anyway. The "we love Di" thing confuses and amuses me in equal measure. The day before she got squished, they all fucking hated her guts as a publicity grabbing, attention seeking, interfering, civil list scrounging scumbag. They can try to deny this, but sadly, much as Gordon Stalin would like it, the UK has not quite reached Orwellian perfection by re-writing and un-writing all previous news to match current views.....so all the headlines are still there to be looked up :D

What's your fave Di gag then guys?

"Hey, did so hear Diana was on the radio?" "really?" "yeah, and the aircon controls, the speedo, the steering wheel and the carpets".

And of course.....Died In A Nasty Accident.

Aphex twin does a nice little cutup of stuff based on her, most hilarious.

The new dvd thats out, i watched it the other day, pretty funny, but every gag you mention is on the dvd. So its good if you want to relive the gig you saw, but will be disapointing if you want different material.

thought it was pants

far too much stuff repeated from tv & to help pad out to an hour "any questions" at the end

his putting down of hecklers did not involve anything clever or improvised but a series of insults he;s clearly used many times before

Downloaded the Hackney Empire DVD. That's from this summer anyway, isn't it?! Presume he won't have added much new material since?

Do like the fella. Only thing I'd say it that the DVD is way too long at 90mins.

that was part of the problem, i do like him when i've seen him on telly, but the evening was on a downer when you knew 50% of the punchlines that were coming
