first they were written both by the same author, Micheal Crichton (who passed away last week )

but the actual book Jurassic Park has a good underline story of morality and science (also very well researched with top knowledge of dinosaurs in 1990 and chaos theory), whereas Westworld is mostly just a fun idea...

I dunno, I though chaos was paid lip service purely as a "aren't I hip to what's happening" kinda thing, not a lot of what is said is that much to do with actual chaos theory.

There's another of his books with the same plot (amusement park or simillar gone fucking nuts) but it eludes me just now.

Such plots are the sorts of things Asimov or Clarke would batter him for becuause he treats engineers and scientists as imbeciles who don't think of the most utterly obvious modes of failure. Of course it could be argued that's a more realistic view of science in it's real world position of slave to business than Art'n'Ike's head-up-their-holes technotopian views of science.....but Michael C didn't invent comms satellites or the idea of the internet or or or or or.... so I'm with the boffins on this.
