Nahhh, it's boring as fuck with no ATTEMPTED overtaking.....look at Senna and Mansell at Monaco in 1992, 8 of the most nerve-wracking laps you'll ever see but no successful overtake.
Anyway, since that fucking German pissed off it's been great, the last couple of years have been frantic. Von Cobblers killed F1 for loads of people...."I vill just sit here and vait for Herr Toad to tell me ven to come in to ze box so I can get past the Britischer unt vin another race fur ze faderland" (nb: box is non-brit for pits)
It was all the more sickening because everyone knew Michael COULD race like a mad cunt when he bothered. To an extend Seb Loeb's done the same to WRC....last rally I watched was the last one I was at, Rally Ireland, stupid spectator stage last year.
To me however, I could watch one F1 car drive round alone all day. It really comes down to whether seeing someone doing 200mph on the straights and taking corners 10 times faster than any road car, whilst having his ringpiece and gonads repeatedly smashed by the ground....is boring.
Now cycle racing....without the racin, it's a bloke on a bike. Football, when nowt's happening is some men standing in a field.
You'll not convince me otherwise if you start now and work on it until I drop dead, it's in me blood (no idea where it came from, my twat of a da used to race bikes....but spending my weekends clad in leather, surrounded by men clad in leather always seemed a bit....y'know), my childhood comfort toy when I was about 3 was a Hesketh Cosworth with "Hunt" written on it's really silly looking airbox. In fact if I wasn't too poor, too fat, and far too big a coward, I'd be out there doing it for real myself. As it is, I have to content myself with Iracing....same fun....less bruises.
Still, I'll not argue about whether Lewis should win the SPOTY or not...as I said, actually HAVING a personality is a major achievement for any racing driver.
