Sucks to be Jenson Button. Remember the fight he put up to be allowed to stay there!

Just been on the radio. Staff put on 3 months notice. Wont be racing next year unless they find a buyer.

Oh dear!

Williams are also in apparent financial trouble and are looking for support.

Dang! And, Honda is healthy.

There is a lot of speculation about what will happen to our tin top series known as NASCAR if the Big 3 go tango uniform. I really don't know if it will impact left turn racing all that much. The cars are esentially spec racers now with some engine support from the various factories.

I always said that the way to bring down sppending was to take their money away. Apart from the sad state of F1 in general which this is merely an indicator of, they wont be missed, they were shite. And there is a tiny element of "as ye sow, so shall ye reap" about it. It was Honda who in the late 80's started the vast cash fueled arms race that we take for granted today.

I do hope Williams make it through OK, as they're the last "proper" team.

Tex, one thing Nazzers have going for them is that they can be done reletively cheaply, you could probably run a car for a whole year in Nascars for the cost of a single F1 car.

Between this and Bernie's retarded medals idea, I can see F1 vanishing. For a while. It'll come back as a bunch of garagistes again, and will be better for it. Meantime, I hope you all like watching Formula Ford (or Skip Barber F2000's).

EDIT: I womder where this leave Honda's challenge in the ALMS next year which was supposed to be expanded to a full (albeit "acura" badged) factory program with a view to an entry in the 24 Hours in June.

Who?

(house tradition, every time James Dickface says that name someone will yell "who" cos he's a fuckin nobody, he was an also ran in F3, and I've never understood why he was snatched up into F1 so quickly. I realise it was the trend of the time with Kimi and all, but Kimi was fabulous in Renaults not a maker up of numbers like Button.)

You know, Honda made such a big splash with their Acura entry into ALMS, I think they would lose too much face to bail so soon.

Well, now you dont have to listen to James Allen, nor watch Jenson Button drive.

f1 has been shite since it went to itv, which I think coincided with a bunch of rule changes which just turned it into a procession, and i'm surprised it's lasted so long since cigarette advertising was banned, as for eccelston, he's a greedy pratt, but not as greedy as his soon to be ex-wife.

it needs more characters like lotus' chapman, "honest guv if you make the bulkhead out of paper and spray it with gold paint it makes it fire proof!" class

Never did either really

Is this Johnathon Legard fella known to you? Name rings a bell but can't place him.

With Brundle, Coulthard and Jordan on board, I will be running a book on who gets fired first.

Water cooled brakes

I think 98 and 99 the cars were terrible, and they were a McRon whitewash. 2000, 01 02 03 and 04 the cars got much racier, but Von Cobblers ass-raped the field by fair means and foul. 05 06 07 and 08 I would contest were some of the best F1 seasons ever, both in terms of the openness of the championship and the fact that people raced and overtook rather a lot.
