back to your previous post though, you're not alone in liking themes, I love the old tomorrows world themes, all up until mid 80's when they went a bit S,A&W style, the 70's jazzy one is great, and the early 80's with the vocal sound is cool. also like News round theme and strangely a lot of sitcom stuff, realy wind people up at work whistling terry and june, waltons, bonanza bewitched (which is very similar to blind date) and blockbusters (ed welch is a tv theme god).

I've completely nerded myself out, so i'm off to watch heroes.

Going back 30 years or so these did it for me;

loved the programmes though,will have to thinkif there's a programme where I onlyliked the theme tune.

LOL Edel, that's about the only American one I'd have picked. I remember nearly laughing my self into hospital one day when the BBC used it as an intro to a feature about the two Vauhauldrivers in the British Touring Car Champ's....Derek Warwick, and aging reprobate who'd had his turn in every decent racing series and ended up in BTCC, and John Clelland, an insane Scots BTCC lifer, two of the most despicably hilarious cads to every take a green flag.

OK then.........Themes.......

Firstly, you've SO got the wrong Space1999 theme there, that's Series two and it stinks (did I see things when watching that or did Lionel Blair do the incidental music in the episode that theme's ripped from?).

It's THIS one that's mightly (cos it sounds more Barry Gray)

And speaking of which..... There's better versions of the theme out there but I posted this one because I've always imagine what it would have been like to be 8 in the early 60's, and have a colour TV, but everything barring a few wngineering tests and specials for the grownups was in black and white.....then seeing this......

The druming on the closing theme of this is just unholy, and again, it has to be the TV version of the intro cos it's just not right without the BIGRAT sound effects.

On BBC News 24,the countdown music to the headlines on the hour.Sometimes if yer lucky you can catch a full 30 second workout of the tune.Time enough to get those glowsticks out and wave yer hands in the air.Thank goodness though that they don't have the main headline racing around the globe in the visuals anymore.There was something never quite right about "DOG ATTACKS WOMAN DOG ATTACKS WOMAN DOG ATTACKS WOMAN DOG ATTACKS WOMAN" spinning at breakneck speed around the Earth while the banging rave tune pounds out.
