It's true, people in American north of Mexico don't even now what "bad" is. Things are still actually much better than 20-30 years ago. Spoiled we are. People here complain when the electricty goes out that they can't open the powered garage door opener and go buy packaged plastic bags of prepared food at the grocery store. And they had to use candles for one evening during the summer. Horrors!

The question is whether our society is sustainable, will we have cheap fuel, water, food, candy, clothes, porn, TV when there are 12 billion people on the planet and resources get stretched...? Oil gets harder to use, water resources get stretched, the silicon chip can only go so small... are there limits to our society, we may well crash hard someday.
