might be a good thing they toured Europe with IlikeTrAInS (excuse my punctuation) my first 3 inch CD single was Lucretia(My Reflection) i was a goth for 2 weeks in 1987. i saw the Mission (supported by All About eve) at the Apollo then went the The Banshee nightclub. this is turning into Jeremy Kyle.
my mum bought me Slayer "South of Heaven"( on vinyl) for my 17th birthday from Woolies in Rochdale. Trouble is , I already had it , so I swapped it for the sisters "Floodland". and...my head of sixth form Mr.Moston looks like Andrew Eldrich who looks like Gerry Adams...

I don't they have ever produced something decent after Floodland...and didn't A. eldritch say he hated goths? their biggest audience:D

I've seen them live twice. Once around 1985 when they were very good - very loud and played for well over an hour.
The second time was around 2000 at The Forum in Kentish Town. They played for forty minutes (32 minutes too long in my opinion) and you couldn't see anything on stage because of all the dry ice. They seemed completely disinterested in the music and the audience and I really felt like asking for my money back - they were shite :(
A real shame as, if you can get past the crap 'goth' image, they did produce some very good tunes years ago.
Well, my favourite tune of The Sisters Of Mercy is "Temple Of Love" (featuring Ofra Haza), although I still do like those 3 singles off "Floodland" - "Lucretia My Reflection", "Dominion", and, of course, "This Corrosion".
Never was a goth, though, just like those 4 songs! :)

Same here, saw them around that time as well and they where shite, big time! 
Strange thing is/was, they are really big in the goff-community but the som seem to dislike that community a lot (who doesn't by the way
)...never piss on the peeps who pay ur bills i would say but they seem to be getting away with it....
