It's snowing in Blackrod where I'm working today. Light flakes. If it comes down properly it will stick. This means that my journey time to work tomorrow, will double.

Yup, apparently it's going to be as bad as 2003 when all those cars got stuck on the M11... Good job I'm working from home tomorrow, then! 
(Although I do have to get on a train on Tuesday to Telford...) 
It tried but now stopped. They say this winter's been the coldest for 13 years. It hasn't struck me as any colder than usual though

How long does this snow stick around? Do you have snow and ice that sticks around for a couple weeks? Do you have snow plows that have to make the roads passible? Are the side roads sheets of ice for a few weeks?

Well, indeed - if we had snow for more than a couple of days a year, then we would obviously spend a lot more money and resources preventing/clearing up afterwards... As it is, it's not really that financially viable to spend lots of money for a couple of days a year...
Light snow covering thus far, but lots forecast for this evening/tonight...
A decent amount of snow tomorrow and a day off for me.
Its a pity there's nothing to do on the day off, but a day off nonetheless.

We've got light covering so far, getting to work will be a bloody nightmare full of people doing the schoolrun. They should shut the schoolsfora fewdays and give us all a decent chance to get in.
This weather is ace, Taiga Bean Goose, Baikal Teal and Arctic Redpoll reported today. Still loads of waxwings as well.
Doesn't snow in Bangor as a general rule. The ocassionaly 2mm of slow melting hail, the odd snow shower that melts before it lands, that sort of thing. We've got sea on 3 sides and Belfast on the fourth, basically melts it all before it lands here. About 10 times a year I get a frantic mother telling me how badly it's gonna snow. Sadly she has recently begun to believe and no longer takes my bets.
Having said that, conditions ARE looking just about spot on.
Too old for snow=ready for dog food factory. (OK, I am aware that I can barely manage to be properly mobile on dry concrete/carpet, but fuck it, at least there will be a slight cushioning effect for when I got on my hoop).

Walked through a light snowfall in the bitter cold this evening. As ever, the snow made me recall one of my favourite combination of words; the closing passage from The Dead by James Joyce:

It's about a foot here already and still coming down. I know that's not a lot down Sarffffff, but its the most i can remember for mebbe 15 years.

A totally inadequate response yet again. Snow in January is not an unexpected event (indeed this was forecast over a week ago) but yet again the infrastructure is reduced to total impotence.
Snow is falling very heavily in Barnet! When I nipped downstairs for the paper and opened the door the snow was 7 inches high. School is closed, so both Joe and I are off today and are about to go sledging! Woo hoo!

Lucky old you. Think of me this afternoon when i'll be conducting a grave side service in an isolated and exposed grave yard up to my knees in the white stuff.On the plus side the mourners probably wont want to hang around too long.
not seen this much snow since me days in the hac,, only joking,, cant get to work cos of the stuff loads of bleating about"it took me 2 hours to do 7 miles ",, im not gonna bother with testing that theory,, son of 79 hit the school gates,, "we are open , BUT if you want to go home you can" thats a knock at the door must be him , looks like snowballs for the rest of the day then
